Are we a Product or a Consumer?

Yes! You read it right. We are products for some company which accumulates us together to pitch us to some clients.

Let's take an example to understand this, Consider yourself an advertiser and you have been asked to put a hoarding of the Client’s new 3BHK project at some fruitful area as per your insights.

Now, this is quite obvious, you won’t be putting the hoarding at someplace where the population is 20 People, agreed? That’s where the game begins, first look at the screenshot, which I have taken today only:

Did you see anything unusual? Don't worry, I’ll make it simple — Facebook is an advertising company, not a Social Network platform.

Yes, so we are by our own choice spending hours and hours on an advertising platform to see what they have been paid to promote (Along with some posts of our old friends).

Example: So suppose Nike wants to promote its Nike Air Jordan 4 on some platform. So they did prior research and found, It needs to create Awareness (thats’ our CTA) and found that the product should go to a bigger crowd, but the problem is Crowd cannot be generated quickly. So they asked people, where can they get a big crowd at the USA location in the age group of 18–25 Years targeting all genders, and then they came to FB, where they have us. So Facebook sold a crowd of age 18–25 Years which live in the USA.

So I rest my case with a changed perception. This is obviously a great topic to be talked about. Let's chat in Comments with some more insights.
